Hey yall! I’m Allie, the owner of mantequillaco and the face behind the letters. I’m a maker of all the things. If it can be written on - I will write on it! I’m a hand-letterer, DIY-er and love all things creative. I’ve always loved writing and doodling, whether it was passing elaborately decorated notes in high school or writing out all the lyrics to Adele’s 21 in college, you could always count on me if you needed a pen to borrow.
Fast forward to early 2017 - I came across a calming calligraphy video on Buzzfeed and I was hooked. Somehow this was the first time it occurred to me that I could use my love of penmanship to create tangible goods for people. I started practicing and learning as much as I could any chance I got. In August of 2017 one of my good friends was getting married and knew about my new hobby. She asked me to make all of her wedding signs and with a lot of nerves but even more excitement I said of course. Being at her wedding and hearing her guests compliment my work without knowing I was the one who made it opened my mind to what could be. I decided to create an Etsy shop and the rest is history!
I live in South Florida with my fiance Patrick and our most favorite thing ever, our cat Mady. Yes I’m the biggest cat lover ever, might as well go ahead and get it out there! We’re either relaxing at the beach, on the hunt for the best happy hour in town or trying our a new recipe from the comfort of homeeee.
